Where Trend Meets Tradition

Inspired by classic American design in furniture, carriages, and architecture the red pigment in this milk paint color finish was derived from oxides of iron and manganese. Same as it was more than 250 years ago.

This casket is a modern interpretation of an Old World English casket. Simple in its construction techniques, yet complex with elegant geometry. Sturdy as a draft horse.

The original issue, meant to be shouldered by its pallbearers, had no handles. This version has a long slender handle designed for usefulness without distracting from the elegant horizontal lines.

The natural pine wood is stained with red milk paint.  The red pigment is a natural earth mixture of iron and manganese oxides. Hand-rubbed with dark raw tung oil to enhance the color of red paint on wood. Hand-buffed with a warm black wax mixture of walnut oil, carnauba wax, and beeswax.

This casket exhibits the same color and texture of the furniture and carriages of the American colonies.
